OHS POLICY

Occupational Health and Safety Policy

  

1.            The objectives of The HouseWash Company’s Health and Safety Policy and the following procedures are to demonstrate an active consultative commitment by The HouseWash Company’s Management to all areas of Safety and Health in The HouseWash Company’s workplace.

2.            To meet its obligations, The HouseWash Company will take all reasonable steps to:

Establish, document and implement with accurate reporting and recording, an Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OHSMS) which complies with relevant legislation and regulations.

3.            Ensure that adequate instruction is given to employees in safe working procedures through induction and training and that they are informed of any hazard to their health, which is know to be associated with work in which they are involved.

4.            Ensure that situations or work practices which are unsafe or harmful are reported immediately to the supervisor of the employee so that corrective action can be taken.

5.            Encourage each person to regard accident prevention as an individual responsibility and to consult employees through the Safety Committee.

6.            Require Managers and Supervisors to be responsible and accountable for the application of the general safety rules of The HouseWash Company and OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH.

7.            Require that every accident at The HouseWash Company is reported and logged in an accident register, where appropriate investigated, and ensure any action necessary to reduce further risk is implemented.

8.            Establish procedures to minimise risk of injury or to health by the establishment and maintenance of a hazard register.

9.            Maintain (in the workplace) proper storage, control and disposal of harmful substances (i.e. chemicals).

10.        Ensure that machines and equipment are maintained in a safe condition and that necessary personal protective clothing, equipment  and devices are available in the workplace.

11.        Post clearly visible signs and notices as required.

12.        This policy will be reviewed by the company owners in conjunction with employee representatives for continuous improvement annually.

13.        This policy will be available to all interested parties.

14.        Employees will have their individual Health and Safety responsibilities explained at induction and on the job task analysis from the hazard register.

15.        The HouseWash Company is committed to implementation of this policy with the consultation and participation of employees and their representatives.  The HouseWash Company is also committed to support the safe and early return to work of injured employees.
